PETALING JAYA: An insurance agent is offering a two-month stay free-of-charge for Putra Heights residents whose homes were damaged in last Tuesday’s gas pipe blast.
Izzkandar Nordin posted on TikTok offering his double-story home in Cyberjaya for Putra Heights residents who need a temporary shelter while repairing their homes or waiting for compensation.
“If your house is damaged during the blast or if you know of any person who needs a shelter, please private message me.
“Please help to share the message with those who need help too. I just want to help within my means,” Izzkandar said.
He said his Cyberjaya double-story home—only 20 minutes from Putra Heights—has a total of five rooms and five bathrooms suitable for senior citizens or a family with children.
All the rooms are equipped with air-condition.
He also gave a tour of the house in TikTok.
The post received more than 2.3 million views on TikTok with many netizens liking it and praising his generosity.
One wrote that although Izzkandar may not be able to help all residents affected by the blast, his offer has touched the online community.
It was reported that Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that 364 victims from 74 families were affected by the explosion and fire caused by a leaking gas pipeline in Putra Heights.
The disaster damaged 437 homes, with total property losses estimated at RM64.5 million.
