Anwar only received RM1 a year as Selangor economic advisor: Juwairiya

SHAH ALAM: Selangor menteri besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari’s political secretary Juwairiya Zulkifli refuted the allegation by Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim bagged RM15 million in rewards when he was the economic adviser to the Selangor state government.

Juwairiya, who is also Bukit Melawati state assemblyman, insisted in a statement this morning that Muhyiddin’s allegation was not new and had been repeated numerous times.

She said the state government had repeatedly refuted the allegation, including an official rebuttal by the late menteri besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim through a formal reply at the state legislative assembly meeting.

I believe the Prime Minister should take further action to prevent this slander from being continuously peddled by people who are morally and ethically bankrupt in politics.”

Juwairiya said Anwar only received a symbolic salary of RM1 a year when he was the state economic adviser, adding that he did not receive any allowance or privileges other than the RM1 salary.”

She said the recycled allegation showed PN’s level of desperation and lack of political capital after failing to form the federal government following the November 19 general election.

The act of spreading slander and false allegations to cloud the minds of the people is very irresponsible and clearly out of the heart of Malay-Islam politics that they always chant.”
