KUALA LUMPUR: The election commission has issued a total of 365,686 postal ballot papers for the 15th general election, 13% of which for overseas Malaysians.

The EC secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said the postal ballot papers had been sent out for 222 parliamentary and 117 state assembly seats from November 7 in accordance with the Elections (Postal Voting) Regulations 2003.

He said in a statement that of all the postal ballot papers, 299,097 were Borang 1A for election workers, EC members and officers, police and army personnel as well as media practitioners; 48,109 Borang 1B for Malaysians residing abroad; 15,739 Borang 1C for agencies and organizations; and 2,741 for absentee voters.

Ikmalrudin said all postal ballot papers must reach the respective returning officers before 5.00 pm. this Saturday.
