Deepak could be replaced as PN’s candidate in Pulai

JOHOR BAHRU: Businessman JR Deepak Jaikishan, who in 2018 alleged that former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor were involved in the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu, could be replaced as Perikatan Nasional’s candidate for Pulai parliamentary seat.

According to PN’s announcement, Deepak will contest under Gerakan Rakyat ticket, but the state Gerakan said it was not familiar with the name.

Gerakan’s Johor chairman Teo Kok Chee told Sin Chew Daily the nomination of Deepak was not final, as PN had yet to issue the appointment letter, adding that the Pulai candidate could be replaced.

Teo revealed that the state Gerakan had proposed two names to the party’s leadership, i.e. vice president cum Johor state liaison committee secretary Koo Shiaw Lee; and central committee member, Johor deputy secretary and Tebrau divisional chairman Loh Kah Yong.

Teo said fielding Deepak in Pulai was the decision of Perikatan Nasional and Gerakan Rakyat leadership, but the Johor Gerakan was not familiar with this man.
