PUTRAJAYA, July 28 (Sin Chew Daily) – A record of 17,405 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including six imported cases.

Selangor reported 7,171 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,880), Kedah (1,112), Sabah (913), Negeri Sembilan (863), Johor (767), Penang (760), Kelantan (532), Melaka (531), Terengganu (490), Sarawak (464), Pahang (429), and Perak (406).

To date there are a cumulative total of 1,061,476 confirmed cases and 877,812 recoveries (including 12,373 today) at 82.70% recovery rate.

143 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 8,551.

There are currently 175,113 active cases, including 1,016 at ICUs, 529 requiring ventilators.
