KUALA LUMPUR: Former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli’s recent whistleblowing meeting was related to companies owned by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s ex-political secretary Datuk Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.
The meeting had nothing to do with other politicians including former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, he said.
Attempts to link Ismail and Khairy were “malicious effort made to divert attention “, he said.
In a post on X, the Pandan MP questioned the mastermind who flooded the social media with such speculations.
After his son’s attack, several threatening messages were sent telling him to remain silent.
“Who wants me to remain silent and which issue that I should be quiet?” asked Rafizi.
Rafizi said he met a whistleblower with regards to a scandal one week before his 12-year-old son was attacked with a syringe by unidentified assailant outside a shopping mall in Putrajaya.
However, there were claims that he was investigating money laundering in overseas allegedly involving Ismail and also projects when Khairy was the Health Minister.
“These two claims are not true,’’ said Rafizi.
“This has nothing to do with Ismail, Khairy and other politicians, “ he said, adding that the speculations were targeted at creating confusion and diverting public attention where people would be making their own judgements with many versions.
Rafizi also said he had contacted Ismail Sabri and supported the latter to lodge a police report against the speculations.
