IPOH: A university student was shocked to pay RM18 for a plate of rice with braised pork, broccoli and potato at a food stall in Tanjung Malim.
Oh Mun Seng lodged a complaint with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living office in Tapah over the exorbitant price charged for a plate of mixed rice on May 31.
After receiving the complaint, the enforcement division of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living office in Tapah assigned the case to an investigation officer on June 3.
On Monday, Oh received a reply stating that action had been taken against the food stall charging unreasonable price and violating the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.
“It was the most expensive mixed rice I have had so far,” said Oh.
The restaurant said Oh had scooped large portions of the dishes enough for two people.
The pork dish was RM10, a vegetable dish at RM3 for two dishes, rice cost RM2, and the total was RM18.
