JOHOR BAHRU: Annual general meetings held at MCA divisional level will be a platform for grassroots to voice their opinions on the party’s future plans, says MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

“Those opinions will be the reference for party central leadership to decide on its next course of action,” said Dr Wee.

“Views are different in many areas as we have visited many divisions. We would want to hear from the grassroots,” he told the media after officiating the closing ceremony of Pasir Gudang MCA annual general meeting on Sunday.

Dr Wee said all views expressed would be compiled for reference.

It was reported earlier that the stand adopted by MCA divisions would be the basis for the party central leadership to decide during the party’s annual general assembly whether it would be parting ways with Umno.

MCA will be holding its annual general assembly in October.
