JOHOR BAHRU: A Chinese restaurant which served the King of Malaysia and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim asam pedas several days ago is enjoying good business.

Patrons are making a line to wait for a table outside the restaurant known as Kedai Makan Jadi Baru Botak.

The Chinese restaurant at Jalan Lepas, Tanjung Puteri near Johor Bahru checkpoint, is famous for asam pedas favoured by Malay patrons.

The restaurant shared a short clip of full house on TikTok with the taglines Full House Today and the power of Agong n PMX.

The short clip saw nearly a million hits in just two days.

Some netizens also remarked that only Johoreans would know how good the dish is, suggesting that non-Johoreans should try the dish.

Some said the restaurant is a hidden gem of Johor Bahru and that there are many such restaurants patronised by the local Malays, a secret many people might not know.

It was reported that His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Anwar had asam pedas for lunch at the restaurant on Monday.

The Prime Minister was granted an audience with His Majesty at Istana Pasir Pelangi.

The Regent of Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail was also present during the audience and lunch, according to His Majesty’s Facebook page.
