ZHENGZHOU, China: Consumers from China raise their thumbs for durians from Malaysia.
Chinese national Zhu Weiwei said after tasting the durians from Malaysia that by comparison, durians from other countries seem to be tasteless.
To her, durians from Malaysia are strong in smell.
Another citizen Wang Pei told Zhengzhou Radio and Television Station that the family loved the pungent fruit.
This is the first time she bought fresh durians from Malaysia.
Guo Yu told Zhengzhou Radio and Television Station that the durians from Malaysia are strong in smell compared to durians from other countries.
He had bought the King of Fruits home to share with his family members.
The first batch of 15 tonnes of durians comprising Musang King, Black Thorn and others was flown to Zhengzhou in China’s Henan Province on a five-hour cargo flight from Kuala Lumpur last Saturday.
Sin Chew Daily collaborated with Zhengzhou Radio and Television Station to follow up on the export of fresh durians to China.
Durians from Malaysia will also be available in other Chinese cities as the first batch of durians will be delivered to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and other cities after it arrived in Zhengzhou.
Fresh durians are pre-sold in Shanghai and the orders are scheduled for deliver this Thursday.
