MELAKA: Chinese actress Fan Bingbing who has taken a new role as the Melaka Tourism Ambassador is in the historical town.

Dressed as a nyonya in pink, the actress arrived at the Stadthuys Building at 10:00.

Large number of fans waited at the area to catch a glimpse of the actress.

She waved at the fans and also took photographs with some of them for about 30 minutes before leaving for a Baba Nyonya restaurant in the area.

Bingbing savoured chicken rice, cendol, coconut biscuits and Musang King at a store in Jonker Walk.

Around noon, Bingbing arrived at Lorong Hang Jebat in a trishaw to launch the mural of Empress of China, a role played by her in the TV series in China.

Clad in a white nyonya kebaya, the actress was standing in front of the mural for fans to take a photo of her with the mural. Some shouted her name.

She shook hands with fans and posed for photographs with them, making V signs.

Bingbing is the newly-appointed Melaka Tourism Ambassador for Visit Melaka Year 2024.
