KLANG: Close to 200 Chinese art lovers spent a total of five hours completing a giant painting measuring 2,024 feet comprising more than a hundred dragons to usher in the Year of the Dragon.

The 100 dragons in different postures, paired with Chinese idioms containing the word “dragon” in Chinese, begins with the story of Chinese migrants settling down in Malaya.

The painting ends with a famous quote by Chinese education activist Lim Lian Giok criticising the government without fear and fighting against the powerful with bare fists.

Organised by an art school under the Gan Association Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan in conjunction with the 120th anniversary of Klang Hokkien Association, the giant painting was completed at the Klang Hokkien Association building on Sunday.
