Almost 800k have registered for PADU

PETALING JAYA: Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) Chief Statistician Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin said the number of people registering for PADU (Central Database Hub) increased gradually since its launch last week, with 798,528 people having registered as of 11.59 p.m. Sunday.

He told Sin Chew Daily today that the number of people registering for PADU stood at 767,005 as of 1.00 p.m. yesterday, , an increase of 31,523 within the same day.

He said this shows that awareness among Malaysians about this program has indeed increased.

“Besides, the number of PADU counters set up nationwide has also increased,” he said.

As of 11.59 p.m. last night, Selangor recorded the highest number of registrations, at 182,943, followed by Johor (85,975), Sarawak (72,775), Perak (71,409), Sabah (60,001), Kuala Lumpur (54,998), Kedah (52,034), Penang (43,943), Negeri Sembilan (39,804), Kelantan (37,082), Pahang (36,354), Melaka (25,464), Terengganu (22,632), Perlis (7,003), Putrajaya (4,262) and Labuan (1,849).
