KUALA LUMPUR: PAS Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan refuted the rumor that the party’s members of parliament planned to meet at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur last night to appoint Vice President Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar as leader of the new government, but later decided to call off the meeting after assessing the situation.
Takiyuddin posted on his Facebook a fake notice that went viral on social media. The notice was to be signed by Takiyuddin himself.
The notice wrote that PAS decided not to participate in a meeting of PAS MPs in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday after assessing the situation.
The notice also wrote that PAS’ position was consistent in accepting the party’s MP for Kemaman (Ahmad Samsuri) as the leader of a new administration to be set up soon.
