PENANG: Penang PAS secretary Iszuree Ibrahim said Gerakan Rakyat president Dominic Lau was told to leave the PAS ceramah for his own safety.

In a Facebook video, Iszuree said the incident at Sungai Dua on August 1 had been exploited by social media to tarnish the image of Perikatan Nasional while jeopardizing intercommunity relationship.

He said Lau was told not to attend the PAS ceramah for his own safety because many PAS members were unhappy over Gerakan’s candidature in Bayan Lepas.

“We want to protect him and don’t want anything unpleasant to happen. Dominic Lau is my friend!”
