SHAH ALAM: Selangor PAS secretary Roslan Shahir said the state MIC and MCA leaders had expressed their support for Perikatan Nasional candidates in the upcoming Selangor state election.

He told the media that Selangor PN vice chairman Datuk Ahmad Yunus Hairi recently met up with 20 MIC divisional leaders who expressed their support for PN candidates.

Roslan also said in some constituencies, local MIC leaders showed up in support of PN’s candidates on the nomination day.

“Additionally, there is an MCA representative meeting our candidate in Kapar, saying he would support us.

“This has boosted our confidence, as it shows that traditional BN supporters now no longer support them!”

He told the media, “If I’m not mistaken, the MCA’s Kapar divisional chairman met up with Dr. Halimah Ali (PAS’ MP for Kapar).

“That’s why MCA and MIC have skipped the state elections for the first time. There must be some frustration. I believe they will support PN.”

As for whether these two parties will openly voice their support for PN, Rolan said, “Some will openly support us, like the MIC. As for MCA, perhaps they want to vote first or what, but we will accept.”

He also said MIC’s former Ijok assemblyman K. Parthiban was recently sacked by his party because he attended PN’s event.

“He didn’t want to quit MIC, but if he was sacked because of this, we won’t force him to join us. He can still become a Friend of PN.”
