PUTRAJAYA: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali said the contracts of senior office holders at all government-linked companies and statutory institutions through political appointments would be terminated with immediate effect.

Mohd Zuki said the government had decided in yesterday’s cabinet meeting to terminate the contracts of all political appointees.

The Institute for Democracy and. Economic Affairs (IDEAS) has earlier disclosed that under former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, some 234 political appointments were made, more than in any previous administrations, including 119 new appointments.
