KUALA LUMPUR: Muafakat Nasional founder Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who has just been sacked from Umno, released the list of the organisation’s 30-member supreme council.

The list includes, among others, Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin, former Umno minister Tan Sri Noh Omar, Chinese Muslim preacher Mohd Ridhuan Tee Abdullah, and Parti Pejuang Tanah Air’s Khairuddin Abu Hassan.

Annuar stressed in a media conference this morning that Muafakat Nasional is not a political party but a non-governmental organisation emphasizing love, harmony and respect.

He said MN is open for all to join, adding that the organisation received over 10,000 applications within the first 24 hours, and more than 20,000 had joined as members as of yesterday.

When asked whether he would appeal against his sacking from Umno, Annuar said he would not, as he did not find himself at fault.

“They don’t need me. Without me, Umno is still around!”

He said he accepted the party leadership’s decision but urged the other party members not to quit Umno.
