PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan is considering to nominate either former Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof or former minister in the prime minister’s department (legal affairs) Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar as the next Dewan Rakyat Speaker, according to a source.

Wan Junaidi has been considered because he is familiar with law and was formerly Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker.

He told Sin Chew Daily he was not aware of this matter, and proposed instead that the incumbent Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun be retained.

Mohamad Ariff, meanwhile, was highly commended for his performance during the previous PH administration before his replacement after the infamous Sheraton Move.

He declined to comment on any speculation when contacted by Sin Chew Daily.
