PETALING JAYA: The online petition started by Bersih urging Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim not to appoint Members of Parliament involved in court cases as cabinet ministers, has so far only been signed by about 1,200 people on its second day running.
Bersih said appointment of elected representatives undergoing criminal prosecutions to any executive position in the government defies the voice of the people who have clearly rejected corruption in GE15.
Bersih specifically mentioned four MPs who should not be appointed to any cabinet or executive position, namely Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (Bagan Datuk), DAP national chairman Lim Guan Eng (Bagan), Sabah BN chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin (Kinabatangan) and MUDA president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (Muar).
