PETALING JAYA: The Star reported that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and party leaders in the unity government had overcome major hurdles in discussions concerning the formation of the new cabinet.
It said consensus had been reached on the appointment of key positions such as the home affairs, communications & multimedia and finance ministers.
The report also said Anwar would announce his cabinet line-up soon.
“Anwar has to balance the unity government. So, it’s difficult to say who will be appointed at the moment,” The Star reported, quoting a source.
“If it all goes well, then it will be announced Thursday, but if there is a need to iron out more issues, then the day after.”
