PENANG: Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow congratulated Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who has just been appointed the country’s 10th prime minister, saying the Penang state government was prepared to work with Anwar to move forward together.

He said the wisdom of all quarters was required in forming a unity government in view of the hung parliament following the 15th general election. And now, Anwar has been appointed as prime minister to put up such a unity government.

He said Anwar’s appointment was welcome by majority of Malaysians and that he had faith Anwar would have plans to run this country well and receive the overwhelming support of the rakyat.

“This is the meaning of election. It opens up a new chapter in the country’s history.”
