PETALING JAYA: Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Senior Fellow Eddin Khoo Bu-Eng said Barisan Nasional’s thumping defeat in the recent 15th general election could be attributed to its leaders’ arrogance.

“There were actually many factors leading to their defeat in 2018. Most voters wanted to see Umno more humble and would like to see what they could do insisting to hold the general election during the rainy season.

“When queried by the public, their response was one of arrogance!”

Khoo said in a Sinar Harian live interview that another factor that had led to BN’s defeat was their destructive attitude and wrong strategies because they did not field the most capable candidates in the election.
