KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional chairman and Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said BN had not reached any agreement with any political camp, in particular Perikatan Nasional, to form a join government.
He clarified in a press conference accompanied by BN and Umno leaders as well as newly elected members of parliament at Seri Pacific Hotel in Kuala Lumpur today that BN had not reached an agreement to form a joint government with PN.
26 BN members of parliament were present at the press conference.
Zahid said this decision could only be made at the BN supreme council meeting.
According to a BN insider, Ahmad Zahid is worried that Umno will be marginalized by PAS, if BN were to form a joint government with PN.
