MELAKA: According to a report by CNN’s Southeast Asian correspondent, Disneyland has denied building a new theme park in Melaka.

Additionally, Singapore’s The Wacky Duo website has also reported that there was no news from Disney that a Disneyland would be built in Melaka.

Melaka executive councilor for tourism, heritage and culture Datuk Muhammad Jailani Khamis recently said after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding with foreign investors that Jasin in Melaka would see a Disneyland and Disney City in 2027, but that has since been rebutted.

When contacted by Sin Chew Daily this afternoon, Jailani said he would arrange for the investors to clarify on this matter.

He said he was informed by the investors that Disney had approved the construction of a Disneyland in Sri Lanka but the project would now be relocated to Melaka.
