God of Prosperity: I want to win

PETALING JAYA: I want to win, says the God of Prosperity.

An independent candidate whose name on the ballot paper of GE15 is Choy San Yeh which means God of Prosperity in Cantonese, has finally made her first public appearance.

Denying that she is contesting to lash out her anger, Choy San Yeh said: “All independent candidates who are contesting aim to win in the election.
“Just like buying a 4D lottery ticket. You never know if you will win, but at least you give yourself a chance.

“The God of Prosperity will win if the voters are bold enough to express their anger by giving independent candidates a chance,” she said.

Her election manifesto is to listen to the needs of Seputeh voters and implement beneficial plans for the parliamentary constituency with the slogan: From the community, for the community and by the community.

“As an independent candidate, I do not have to take instructions from party leaders. I can focus on social development in the constituency and the voice of Seputeh will not be disrupted by political fights,” she said.

Choy San Yeh claimed to represent non-Muslim voters to express their anger as well as Muslim voters unhappy with corruption.

She claimed that a vote for DAP is like a vote for PAS.

The lyrics of popular Chinese New Year song “The arrival of God of Prosperity” has been modified to assist her campaign.

Choy San Yeh is contesting the Seputeh parliamentary seat. A proxy was present to submit her documents on the nomination day on the ground that she was infected with Covid-19.

Incumbent Seputeh MP Teresa Kok is defending the seat she has won since 1999.

Besides Choy San Yeh, Kok is challenged by Barisan Nasional’s Lee Kah Hing, Perikatan Nasional’s Wong Yee Yeng and another independent candidate Lee Wai Hong.
