PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional’s candidate for Sungai Buloh Khairy Jamaluddin said he did not rule out the possibility of contesting Umno’s deputy president post in coming party elections.

However, Khairy said he would first discuss with BN’s treasurer-general and incumbent defense minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein who to run for the party’s second highest position and assist Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, whom he supports to contest the party’s top post.

“As I said, Ismail will be PM, and we should support him as party president.

“As for me and Hisham, we will discuss who to run for the second highest position.”
