MELAKA, Jan 15 (Sin Chew Daily) — A giant tiger replica is erected at the entrance of Jonker Walk to usher in the Year of the Tiger.

The five-meter high golden tiger replica weighing 300kg was lifted with a forklift to be place on an elevated stand on Friday.

Prior to this, the tiger replica was placed on the Jonker Walk stage for three days for public viewing.

The giant tiger replica is the second zodiac mascot placed at Jonker walk after the Year of the Dragon in 2012.

The giant tiger replica is believed to offer fortune and safeguard people’s health throughout the Year of the Tiger.
