PETALING JAYA, Oct 21 (Sin Chew Daily) – The food delivery platform allegedly overcharging the vendors contacted the vendors for a meeting, but the virtual meeting scheduled yesterday afternoon was subsequently canceled last minute.
According to a vendor, the meeting was canceled because the food delivery platform disallowed live broadcast and recording of the meeting.
A vendor told Sin Chew Daily the vendors had never demanded an official statement or arrangement for a meeting with the platform concerned.
“We only hope things like fees and hidden charges can be settled. We don’t expect them to issue a statement. We just want them to solve the problems.”
The vendor also said the protest and boycott activities were only carried out by individual vendors in a bid to raise public awareness and was never meant to be an official event that all vendors must participate.
“They have their own ways of protesting, either terminating the cooperation with the platform or temporarily shutting down the services.”
