PUTRAJAYA, Aug 2 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 15,764 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including six imported cases.

Selangor reported 6,067 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,536), Johor (1,222), Sabah (1,166), Kedah (1,108), Negeri Sembilan (862), Perak (748), Penang (667), Kelantan (552), Pahang (475), Melaka (463), Terengganu (425) and Sarawak (411).

To date there are a cumulative total of 1,146,186 confirmed cases and 937,732 recoveries (including 11,767 recovering today) at 81.81% recovery rate.

A record 219 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 9,403.

There are currently 199,051 active cases, including 1,063 at ICUs, 532 requiring ventilators.
