Scoot’s Singapore-Melaka route ferries 2,173 travellers in 17 days
Passengers disembarking from the plane, operated by Scoot from Singapore arrives at the Melaka International Airport.

MELAKA: Since its inaugural flight to Melaka on 23 October, Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), has flown a total of 2,173 passengers.

The airline’s latest destination in Malaysia, its 11th, ferried 448 passengers from Singapore to Melaka and 498 passengers from Melaka to Singapore in October.

In early November, 564 travellers from Singapore visited Melaka by flight and 663 took the flight from Melaka to Singapore.

Scoot operates five times weekly services between Singapore and Melaka on the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft.

Chief Minister of Melaka Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusof is one of those who took the flight to Singapore with 97 passengers on 9 November.

Accompanied by State Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman and state secretary Datuk Azhar Arshad, Ab Rauf was in a flight operated by Scoot to Singapore for a four-day official visit.

Prior to boarding the flight, Ab Rauf distributed souvenirs to 90 passengers arriving at the Melaka International Airport in Batu Berendam from Singapore.

Scoot flies to Melaka five times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
