PUTRAJAYA, June 17 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 5,738 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including three imported cases.

Selangor reported 1,858 new cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan (1,086), Kuala Lumpur (641), Sarawak (559), Johor (449), Sabah (248), Kedah (197), Melaka (184) and Kelantan (154).

To date there are a cumulative total of 678,764 confirmed cases and 608,465 recoveries (including 7,530 discharged today) at 89.64% recovery rate.

60 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 4,202.

There are currently 66,097 active cases, including 909 at ICUs, 441 requiring ventilators.
