KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 (Sin Chew Daily) — Sin Chew Daily Editor-in-Chief Kuik Cheng Kang said while traffic is of tremendous importance to media organizations, they should strive to produce high quality and reliable content for their readers.

He said during the online launch of "Sinchew⁺ VIP Content" on Tuesday evening that "Sinchew+ VIP Content" is a new attempt by the newspaper to create a platform of high quality content.

He insisted that Sin Chew Daily is very clear of its direction in media transformation by changing its approach in engaging the readers while reinforcing the newspaper's reputation, value system and its commitment to high quality content in exchange for the readers' trust and loyalty.

Only registered Sinchew⁺ VIP members with a paid subscription will be able to access the full content on the new platform.

"We want the readers to know that content creation has never been free in the first place, more so for the creation of high quality content," said Kuik, adding that the ability to make the readers willing to pay for premium content is key to the media organization's success in its transformation.

He said Sinchew⁺ VIP members will be able to access some of the special feature articles several days before they go on print on Sin Chew Daily.

"Additionally, we will also invite experts in various fields to pen dedicated columns. All these are exclusive articles that will not even appear on the newspaper."

He also said Sin Chew ePaper subscribers will automatically become Sinchew⁺ VIP members and therefore can gain full access to "Sinchew+ VIP Content".
