PENANG, June 4 (Sin Chew Daily) — Two mobile vaccination teams are working round the clock to vaccinate senior citizens and staff at nursing homes in Penang.
As of Thursday, they have visited 54 nursing homes, vaccinated 1,330 senior citizens and 663 staff working at the homes during the first round of injections.
Family medicine specialist Dr Rameswari who leads a team of 13 members, said residents and staff at the nursing homes are given vaccines produced by Pfizer.
"The process has been smooth so far. The nursing homes are informed in advance and they are prepared to receive the vaccination," she said.
Two mobile teams are tasked to complete vaccinating 5,228 senior citizens at 80 nursing homes in the Northeast district of Penang.
They will receive their second doses three weeks after the first injections.

The mobile team visits four nursing homes a day from Monday to Friday from May 21 to June 30.
One of the mobile teams arrived at Agileness Home at 8.30am and set up the area for vaccination.
By 10am, all 24 residents at the home, including a 100-year-old resident and a stroke patient were vaccinated.
