27,037 cops among the first to receive COVID-19 vaccine

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 (Sin Chew Daily) – Some 27,037 policemen in six states and Kuala Lumpur will be the first batch to receive the COVID-19 vaccine from Wednesday.

Bukit Aman management department director Datuk Ramli Din told Sin Chew Daily the police had received confirmation from the health ministry that 27,037 policemen in Perlis, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Pahang, Kelantan and Sabah would be inoculated at the vaccination center (PPV) from tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya district police chief Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal Nordin will be the first to be immunized from the PJ police district.

He told Sin Chew Daily over the phone that that he would also encourage his subordinates to get inoculated with him. He said most of his subordinates were willing to be vaccinated although he did not reveal the actual number of people.

"Details of vaccination are still being discussed and will be announced to the media later."
