PETALING JAYA, Jan 29 (Sin Chew Daily) – The bickering over a helicopter parked at the porch of a "Datuk Seri" has now come to a close.
The squabble took place between two businessmen who called each other "Datuk Seri" and "Datuk", and from what we understand, one of them is actually not a "Datuk", nor he is a local resident.
The video was also not recorded by another neighbor, but the director friend of the "Datuk Seri" who later posted it on social media.
Datuk Seri Paul Lim Lean Soon, founder of Desire Fly Aviation Club, said the overnight fame he gained from the viral video came as a surprise to him.
Lim, who just celebrated his 50th birthday recently, told Sin Chew Daily in a telephone interview that his company was involved in helicopter leasing and travel-related business. He had brought home a company helicopter for video shooting purposes, but this had incurred the complaint from some neighbors and the neighborhood management. Some had even lodged a police report.
He said the police later informed him it was not against the law to park a helicopter at his porch, adding that his company had previously leased helicopters for private functions such as birthday parties but had never received any complaint from anyone prior to this.
He told Sin Chew Daily he was celebrating his 50th birthday that night, and a neighbor living across the street approached him at about 10pm, scolding him and pushing him.
"We didn't really fight, just some pushing. We all had some alcohol at that time. But later the neighbor's wife came up to apologize past midnight. And the neighbor himself also came to apologize this morning."
Lim posted a video on his Facebook saying he had accepted the neighbor's apology, and that this whole thing has come to a close.
Meanwhile, when contacted by Sin Chew Daily, the police said they would not open a file to investigate this case.
