PUTRAJAYA, Jan 15 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 3,211 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including five imported cases.

Three states reported more than 500 new cases each. Selangor had the highest number of new cases at 889, followed by Johor (535), Sabah (514), Kuala Lumpur (401), Penang (194) and Kedah (142).

To date there are a cumulative total of 151,066 confirmed cases and 115,227 recoveries (including 1,939 discharged today) at 76.3% recovery rate.

Eight new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 586.

There are currently 35,253 active cases, including 204 at ICUs, 87 requiring ventilators.
