At least 10 ministers absent from special cabinet meeting

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11 (Sin Chew Daily) – From the information made available to Sin Chew Daily, the cabinet held a special meeting this morning at 11:30, believed to be about tighter SOPs  in the wake of worsening coronavirus outbreak.

However, at least ten cabinet ministers were absent from this morning's meeting.

These ministers had come into close contact with minister in the prime minister's department (economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed who had tested positive for COVID-19, and were placed on 10-day quarantine by the health ministry.

Additionally, women and family minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun also tested positive for COVID-19 this morning.

Prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will chair the national security council meeting at 14:30 this afternoon, and announce the latest COVID-19 SOPs afterward through a live telecast.
