PUTRAJAYA, Oct 16 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 629 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including two imported cases.

Sabah still has the highest number of new cases at 489, followed by Selangor (50), Penang (33), Labuan (19) and Kuala Lumpur (10).

To date there are a cumulative total of 18,758 confirmed cases and 12,259 recoveries (including 245 discharged today) at 65.35% recovery rate.

Six new deaths have also been reported, taking the toll to 176.

There are currently 6,323 active cases, including 99 at ICUs, 31 requiring ventilators.
