JOHOR BAHRU, Oct 9 (Sin Chew Daily) – Since the movement control order started to come into force on March 18, many Malaysians working in Singapore have been separated from their loved ones over here for more than half a year because of the lockdown imposed to curb the COVID-19 outbreak.

To 'see' his wife and children in Johor Bahru, a Malaysian man working in Singapore stood along the shoreline in Singapore to catch the view of his wife and children standing across the Johor Straits in Johor Bahru.
Mohd Izwan Sarip stood at Woodlands Waterfront Park jetty while his wife and children along the Johor Bahru beach, waving at each other through the video call.
He posted the video on Facebook and wrote that he was separated from his family for more than 200 days by now.
Dressed in a red jersey, Mohd Izwan made a video call to his wife while standing at the jetty at Woodlands Waterfront Park.
"Where are you?" Mohd Izwan was heard asking in the video.
"Can you see me? I'm wearing a black and white blouse,'' his wife replied.

The video also recorded the voice of a child who shouted in excitement: "Hi papa!"
In another video clip, two women were seen in the video, each carrying a child.
One of the women was seen waving.
Mohd Izwan and his wife were standing on the opposite sides of the Johor Straits.
His friend took a video for him, zooming in to help him see his wife, who was standing along the JB shoreline.
On a Facebook post, he suggested that Mohd Izwan buy a pair of binoculars instead, in order to see his wife.
