China-Asean online trade summit on Sept 11-13

PETALING JAYA, Aug 12 (Sin Chew Daily) — To provide China and Asean businesses a platform to collaborate on a long-term basis, the first China-Asean virtual trade summit will be held from September 11 to 13, followed by forums for entrepreneurs to discuss business possibilities from September 14 to 15.

Goh Hin San, vice president of China and Asean Business Association, said the summit would be held for small- and medium-sized industries in China and Asean to exchange information and explore opportunities of collaboration. This would also include explore demand in future for business.

The summit is poised to help China explore markets outside the country while opening doors for Asean businesses to enter China.

The summit is held to further promote economic activities between China and Asean and reduce the impact of COVID-19 on businesses.

Goh said discussion sessions would be jointly organized by China Shippers' Association, China and Asean Business Association and Shenzhen Cross-Border e-Commerce Association.

China Business Post is the media partner for the event.

Goh led Li Xiaoyan, head of the Malaysian bureau of China Business Post and senior reporter Qiu Weijie to visit Sin Chew Daily for a discussion session with the newspaper's top management.

Sin Chew Daily has been invited to be a media partner for the forums of the summit.

The inaugural China-Asean virtual trade summit is expected to draw some 4,000 participants. The summit will cover sharing of investment environment and investment incentives available in China and Asean, international logistics, financial services, supply chain management and discussion forums on trades of agricultural products, machinery, equipment, cross-border e commerce and logistics.

Goh, Li and Qiu were welcomed by Sin Chew Daily chief executive officer Koo Cheng, editor-in-chief Kuik Cheng Kang, and general manager (corporate communications and promotions) Tan Kim Chuan.
