
IPOH, May 12 (Sin Chew Daily) – Three Umno state assemblymen—Mohd Zolkafly Harun (Lintang), Khairul Shahril Mohamed (Bota) and Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud (Changkat Jering)—have sworn in as Perak state executive councilors, meaning the state is now having an all-Malay cabinet.
With that, Umno has a total of six executive councilors, including three sworn in earlier, namely state Umno chairman Saarani Mohamad, Shahrul Zaman Yahya and Dr Norashikin Wan Noordin.
PPBM has two executive councilors, namely Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi and Abdul Yunus Jamhari, while PAS has two, Razman Zakaria and Mohd Akmal Kamaruddin.
Meanwhile, the incumbent state legislative assembly speaker Ngeh Koo Ham has announced his resignation as speaker.
The Perikatan Nasional state government has subsequently elected Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid from Umno as new speaker, while the deputy speaker is Khalil Yahya from PAS.
