PETALING JAYA, Feb 13 (Sin Chew Daily) — The cabinet has approved the extension of Lynas' operating license for another three years until 2023.

A cabinet source told Sin Chew Daily the cabinet decided to approve the extension after Lynas met the three conditions set by the government.

"The cabinet discussed the issue of Lynas yesterday. We want to keep investors here, and we have explained to the public that Lynas' operation is safe. The government has therefore decided to keep Lynas in Malaysia."

The source insisted that the cabinet's decision is final, as Lynas' operating license will expire end of this month.
