6 killed in Genting Highlands road accident
PETALING JAYA: Six people — five women and the male driver — were killed while eight others were injured when the van they were traveling in skidded and crashed into a concrete divider at Km 4.8 of Jalan Genting Highlands today.
15 people, including 13 women and two men, were traveling downhill when the accident occurred at 1.15p.m.
The van lost control while going downhill. It has been suspected that the van driver could have suffered a heart attack when the accident took place.
The bodies of the six deceased, all senior citizens from Penang, have been sent for post-mortem while injured victims are being treated at Bentong Hospital and Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
