PUTRAJAYA, Aug 30 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 19,268 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including 16 imported cases.

Selangor reported 3,567 new cases, followed by Sabah (2,310), Johor (2,265), Kedah (2,084), Sarawak (2,028), Penang (1,780), Kelantan (1,308), Perak (1,144), Pahang (788), Kuala Lumpur (672), Terengganu (544), Melaka (395) and Negeri Sembilan (269).

To date there are a cumulative total of 1,725,357 confirmed cases and 1,443,262 recoveries (including 21,257 recovering today) at 83.65% recovery rate.

295 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 16,382.

There are currently 265,713 active cases, including 1,033 at ICUs, 476 requiring ventilators.
