PETALING JAYA : Selangor state exco Jamaliah Jamaluddin ties the knot with Joshua where Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari is one of the wedding witnesses on Sunday.

Jamaliah, the exco for public health and environment, announced her marriage with Joshua on Facebook this morning.

The announcement was made by the couple with a photograph of the newly-wed posted on Facebook.

The 36-year-old Bandar Utama state assemblyman from DAP said the decision was made for a small wedding after discussing with family members.

Jamaliah also expressed sincere apologies to friends and relatives who may feel disappointed or left out by this decision.

“Our wedding was held at a small and cozy venue, attended by immediate family members and a few close friends whom we’ve known since our student days.

“We respected our families’ opinions and wanted the focus of the wedding to be on us as a couple.

“This wasn’t an easy decision. Besides our families and friends, I know that many party members and leaders have been praying for me and wishing me well.

“I truly hope everyone can understand and respect the decision both our families made together,’’ she wrote on Facebook.

Also present at the wedding was DAP Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin and two fellow party members who know the couple well. Yeo was also her husband’s mentor during his industrial training.

“I would also like to thank a few of my aides who were there to help, ensuring the wedding went smoothly,” she said.

“Just like we are celebrating the union of two families, we have no intention to hurt others’ feelings.

“This ceremony was held with careful consideration and agreed by both families for a simple wedding filled with blessings and beautiful memories to mark this union,” she said.
