KOTA BHARU: PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang remains as party president, says Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, deputy president of PAS.

Tuan Ibrahim dismissed news reports of Hadi stepping down as PAS president, saying that it was a baseless claim.

“PAS president does not request to step down,’’ he said.

Tuan Ibrahim said PAS meetings held recently focused on preparing for by-election and the coming General Elections instead of a leadership transition.

Tuan Ibrahim, Kubang Kerian member of parliament, said someone is attempting to create a chaotic situation as another political party is going through internal rift.

“PAS remains united unlike other parties,’’ he said, adding that he supports Hadi’s leadership.
