KUALA LUMPUR: As the Chinese New Year is just around the corner, unsuspecting shoppers were greeted by lion dance performed by none other than Mydin’s Managing Director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin.

In a video released by Mydin Malaysia on TikTok, Ameer, dressed in a lion dance outfit, was standing next to a checkout counter.

He gave several lucky shoppers a pleasant surprise after they made payment.

Some shoppers could not help but ask the cashier “why is this lion here?”

The cashier collaborated with the boss by not revealing the truth to the shopper.

The moment the shopper completed the payment, Ameer lifted the lion head to greet the shopper “Gong Xi Fa Cai”!
