All 3 Kedah opposition reps non-Malay, non-Muslim

ALOR SETAR: For the first time, all three opposition state assemblymen in Kedah are non-Malays.

Kota Darul Aman incumbent Teh Swee Leong successfully defended his seat on DAP ticket, while Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) first timers Bau Wong Bau Ek and Adam Loh won the Sidam and Bakar Arang seats respectively in the recent state election.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) trio are the opposition against 33 from Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the Kedah state assembly.

PH will decide this month on the candidacy for the opposition leader in the state assembly, said Teh after attending the dinner with Kota Darul Aman campaign team.

He did not confirm whether he would be the candidate for opposition leader in Kedah state assembly.

“We will continue to speak for people of all races and not to ignore their issues,” he said.

Teh said he expected more work to be done, as his Kota Darul Aman seat is the only one won by PH under the Alor Setar parliamentary constituency.

Sidam and Bakar Arang are both under Sungai Petani parliamentary seat.
