PENANG: The 15th Penang state executive council line-up has been unveiled.
Of the ten state exco positions, DAP is allocated seven, Parti Keadilan Rakyat two and Umno one.
The ten newly appointed executive councilors were sworn in this morning before Yang di-Pertua Negeri Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak at 10.00 a.m..
Jagdeep Singh Deo has been appointed Deputy Chief Minister II, taking the place of P. Ramasamy.
Jagdeep Singh is the eldest son of the late DAP chairman Karpal Singh. He has been Datok Keramat state assemblyman since 2018, and has from 2013 been serving as state executive councilor.
PKR’s Batu Maung assemblyman Datuk Mohamad Abdul Hamid was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister I.
In last weekend’s state election, PH-BN won 29 seats, with DAP securing all 19 seats it contested, PKR seven, Umno two and Amanah one.
As for the State Assembly Speaker, the post is expected to go to Rohsidi Hussain, while Deputy Speaker will be Amanah’s Azrul Mahathir Aziz.
